Voting Libertarian this election may not put one in office, but seeing an upward trend of support to the party may very well bring more support in future elections.
A lot of times I am hit with “you are wasting your vote if you go 3rd party” or “realistically there are only 2 parties in America”. The way I see it is slow growth.
Gary Johnson came out in 2016 with a 3.28% collection of the popular vote. Although no where close to winning an election, it was a substantial improvement from 2012’s less than 1 percent (0.99%).
That’s more people talking change, that’s a wider net cast out to those 2 party voters who just can’t get over that hump to switch to 3rd party. If Jojo can see similar support that Gary had (hopefully more) I can see a trend in the correct direction that more parties will be seen as viable in the USA.
