What are your thoughts on the government using its power to force people to be responsible to each other?
What I mean is when the government makes laws in order to make it that the citizenry don’t always go around causing accidental chaos. For example, laws against drinking and driving. I’m pretty sure everyone here can agree that operating something like a car while under the influence of drugs is an objectively bad thing. It’s dangerous and not only could you harm yourself, but there’s a good chance you’ll harm others as well. In my opinion most of the times laws like these are okay, drinking and driving is the opposite of a victimless crime, it kills 30 people every day. My only problem is when the people in charge make these kinds of laws under false pretenses. Remember when everyone thought marijuana was extremely dangerous and made people go crazy? Obviously that was wrong and we’ve hopefully gotten past that but it does make you think if some of the things the government does to make people safe doesn’t actually work *cough most drug laws *cough
