We as libertarians can’t even agree with ourselves, let alone a viable Presidential Candidate.
Y’all know exactly what I’m talking about. The Libertarian party has always been a joke, from the craziness that goes on at the conventions, to our candidates making claims that are outright absurd, we’ve never been serious. Get five of us in a room, and every single one of them will think they’re the only libertarian there. I used to be a registered Libertarian, and I still vote overwhelmingly for libertarian candidates, but I haven’t given a damn about the libertarian party itself in years, because it’s not viable. I truly don’t understand why we still hold a convention. We have better opportunities running as Republicans, and I don’t see why we don’t do it more often. We’re never going to get a viable “100%” Libertarian Candidate, let alone Office holder, and we’re just going to keep arguing amongst ourselves in the corner while we suffer the consequences of whatever happens in the real world. I’m so disillusioned with the party and quite frankly with the movement, and that hurts to say because I still hold and truly believe in the values. What can be done?
