Update about “Ley de bases y puntos de partida para la libertad de los argentinos” in Argentina.
Hi, I’m an argentinian and wanted to share with you the current, actual political situation about reducing state power and increasing argentinians liberties and Milei’s efforts on this important topic since he touched power with the little representation he actually has on our legislative chambers: • The first thing Milei did was to realese a “mega decree (dnu)” which included slightly improvements on this topic like improving the contractual freedom between parts wirt a labour reform, cutting parts of the state like ministries(I’m not sure if this specific is in the dnu or he just did it with his “normal powers”) and also preparing the terrain to the massive privatization of statal companies he has in mind. This decree works like the follows: It automaticly came into force, like it is trated like any other law in our country while both of our legislative chambers prepare to vote for it to stay or go down, if both chambers vote against, it goes down, but it only needs the approval of one chamber to get really aproved. The senate alredy voted against it on March, but it stays while the deputies chamber prepare to vote for it (they hasn’t vote yet). • The labour reform part of Milei’s decree for other part was shout down by The National Chamber of Labor(part of the justice) by petition of a syndicate for consider that the president doesn’t have the powers to pass that by decree. Milei’s powers as president don’t allow him to automaticly pass decrees that touch tax, criminal or electoral issues, so he can’t do too much about this while respecting democracy. • The second great Milei’s attempt to improve Argentinians liberties and so is the “Ley de bases y puntos de partida para la libertad de los argentinos.” This is an around 600 pages bill of impositive and burocracy desregulations and all the stuff we like. To resume: After negotiations with the opposition that are not the “Kirchnerists” to aprove it, it ended in around 300 pages(better than nothing I guess) and got approved at the deputies chamber, we’re lucky we don’t have to negotiate with the hard oppotition. At the senate chamber the Bases bill didn’t got approved at first thanks to the needed-to-get-majority, the “not Kirchnerists allies”, Radical Civic Union. After negotiating with the Radical Civic Union president, Martín asshole Lousteau, the bill returned to deputies again to be modified(still better than nothing I guess) so it can be approved at senate. After the bill getting modified with what the non-kichnerists-allie son of a bitch of Lousteau wanted, it passed the deputies again, but now it isn’t getting approved on the senate because the fucking bitch of Lousteau now is demanding certain changes(for second time) to approve it, this time he is asking to include in the bill certain articles(good articles) that were discarded in first place during the deputies chamber negotiations with other party, so we are now stuck with a dude that “is not” an ally of the people that fucked up the country during so many years, but neither want to actually colaborate to pass the Bases bill. The worst part is that he is acting like he really wants to aprove it when asking for things that he knows we can’t include again. Well, more work for Milei to negotiate. • The only really good hope we have now is to wait until 2025 elections to change the guys in the legislative chambers and hopefully get a solid majority for La Libertad Avanza to make easier to pass and approve laws. Hi fellow libertarians, I wanted to keep you updated on the rrality of our country and our president efforts, it is possible that something I said isn’t exactly correct or could be better explained, but I did my best. So if someone has something to correct me about this I will be glad to listen. Also if you have other questions about Milei’s managment I will be glad to answer as well. submitted by /u/HOOBBIDON |
