Books?

Are there any books that need to be read to fortify our beliefs? Like what is our version of “the communist manifesto”?

EDIT: Also how do you feel about Howard Zinn? ( I personally like him although I know very little about his writings. Only know someone his quotes because of a rapper I listen to.)
