“If seatbelts were invented today…”
I’ve been hearing the argument that if seatbelts were made today, “morons” would resist seatbelt laws (usually in reference to opposition to mask mandates). Am I the only one that thinks that an adult shouldn’t be legally required to wear a seatbelt? Is it a good idea? Yes. Could it save your life? Absolutely. Should the government be able to mandate that I wear one when operating my own car? I think not.
