Florida Baker Act
In the State of Florida we have the Baker act
Florida Mental Health Act – Wikipedia
Originally it was intended to detain people with homicidal or suicidal ideation. Now it’s being used to detain anyone who is “suspected of having a mental illness”
It’s worth noting that “mental illness” is a broad, vague and poorly defined concept.
It’s also worth noting that there is no one who reads you your rights
You are not guaranteed a lawyer, or one phone call or a trial with a jury of your peers.
Many people have to file a writ of Habeus corpus and the detaining entity has access to dangerous
chemicals and often provides these to detained persons.
I am deeply concerned about this entire process.
