How do Libertarians deal with widespread drug addiction?
For context, I am a classical liberal. However, in my town in Connecticut, relaxation on drugs, which I thought would be a great thing, has gone horribly wrong. Addiction is everywhere, more than 4 kids at my high school have overdosed on fentanyl in the last 6 months. A 6th grader was caught with 2 pounds of cocaine and a firearm in her bag on her way to school. Kids walk into classes smelling like weed, and everyone knows damn well that these kids who used to be bright are now hopelessly failing their classes and caught in addiction. How do you, mentally, deal with these examples of drug legalization going terribly wrong? submitted by /u/longsnapper53 [link] [comments]
