Honest Herd Immunity Question
My local area has a >7% positive test rate. Realizing that the sample taken isn’t truly at random (more likely to take a test with symptoms) but if the live infection rate is 7% and people already fully recovered don’t test positive, how long until 70% herd immunity? Assuming you test positive for 14 days (approx?)?
Sorry to post this twice. I posted on another sub but only received the typical knee jerk responses and I hope this page might actually talk this one through. Since my country forces mandatory randomized testing for many people, the live rate may be closer to this number than we’d like to think. With mass deployment of a vaccine beyond the first responders and people at risk taking quite some time, herd immunity may beat the vaccine to the majority of the population.
