Why I’m joining the Libertarian party
The government fucked me over so badly this year..
I live in Maryland, and was caught driving 30 MPH over the speed limit in Virginia. I’m 19 years old, the road was completely empty, and I was in complete control of my car.
I was put in jail. I had to spend $1500 on the entire ordeal. I caught COVID-19 from jail because I was placed in a holding cell with sick people. I’m on probation for a year. I’m not allowed to drive in Virginia until I pay their DMV an additional $175 dollars. I have to do this in-person, and the only available appointment is at 9am 40 days from now. I have to do this or in a year I’ll lose my Maryland license.
I am 19 years old. I was driving fast, and now I have a permanent, Class 1 Misdemeanor criminal record that I have to tell employers.
The police are not our friends.
The government does no good for the people. Try to think of a good think the government did for you? How about some bad things they did to you? A bit of a difference, huh.
I liked Trump because of his demeanor. He’s funny, it’s funny to see him upset people, but, I don’t like him, I don’t like republicans, but democrats typically piss me off just as much. Why can’t the government just leave us alone? Why is the government and the police so interested in hurting it’s citizens?
