Does anyone else have a “Bury my head in the sand” approach when it comes to national politics?
These are my general guidelines that I am calling a “Bury my head in the sand” approach: Do not watch or read any mainstream news sources, ever Do not mention national politics to family or friends, ever Look away when political content is exposed while out of the house Go on “Uniparty rants” when confronted with political questions by peers Do not vote or register to vote After I started looking around at what the 2016 election was doing to our interactions and my life, I adopted this approach. My life is way better and I don’t miss out on anything that I need to know to go about my life. It does mean I’m not able to support Libertarian Candidates, and that can be a struggle sometimes. My state also has all voter registration as public information. I can be a good citizen by being a good person. I can help neighbors, clean up after myself, drive conservatively, not spend all my money on crap from Amazon, have a smile on my face, and give people compliments. This makes way more of a difference than going into a box once every 4 years and pressing a button. That’s all voting is, and considering the general candidates, who cares? submitted by /u/CrownVicDude [link] [comments]
