What do Libertarians think about dividing up the profits from a country’s natural resources?
Norway has a history of managing and distributing the value of its natural resources to benefit the people. The country’s oil and gas industry is a major part of its economy, contributing 24% of its GDP in 2024 and 73% of its export value in 2022. Norway’s government has implemented several policies to ensure that the people share in the profits from these resources. Here in the US the country’s natural resources are privately owned and taxed by the government.
