So, how does a libertarian reconcile the right of my neighbors to shoot off fireworks anytime they want vs. my right to have my dog not be scared shitless or me to be woken up at 6:15 a.m. to the sound of firecrackers?
I just wandered over here post-holiday and was wondering about real world examples of conflicting freedoms. Both of these examples happened to me yesterday. In practice I come up with the short straw since enforcement of noise regulations won’t happen on the 4th. But in terms of philosophy how should it be handled?
