What do Libertarians think about rare, „cost intensive“ diseases?
There are many rare diseases that need the patient to buy rare medications to keep him/her alive.
What would be a libertarian solution to that?
As the development of the drug was really expensive, the company needs to get its money back. And because the condition is rare there will not be many people in need of it. The only solution would be to drive the prices up.
Would an insurance provider pay that? I heard about many cases in the US where the insurance company would not pay the bill and just decline it.
