Which Nation Has the Highest level of Personal Freedom/Freedom from Government?
Hi all, with recent experiences of growing government overstep where I live (Canada), I have started seriously thinking of relocating to a place where I feel more confident in my safety from the government. For those who are not aware of the Canadian legal system (beacuse who is) our individuals rights can be taken away and restricted at a whim, as any protections are vague and open to restriction with the passing of a “notwithstanding clause”. Our rights can also be taken away as long as someone in the system finds it reasonable for social order, which as you might expect means literally anything. Overall, I feel trapped and almost helpless to further increasing government overstep and want a plan to get out.
I am not sure exactly how one would objectively measure such a question, but either way I want to hear the personal opinions/experiences of the members of this sub to help my search.
I think I should clarify that places such as Somalia, or the deserts of the middle east should not count, as they are still controlled, just by warlords instead of (semi)covertly corrupt ‘representatives’. I am open to anyplace that does not have widespread violence or overly-concerning government control.
