The VP debate last night, and both candidates’ refusals to directly answer any questions has convinced me to vote third party this year.
During last night’s debate, I was annoyed by the fact that both candidates avoided answering any question asked, and instead would go off on their preplanned answer about something marginally related. But one moment in particular lost my vote for Biden.
I was already not planning on voting for Trump, he’s abrasive, rude, and while he may have some redeeming policies, he’s too divisive, which I believe is seriously harming the country. However, I was hesitantly planning to vote Biden until Kamala Harris refused to answer the question about packing the courts.
Harris was given an easy opportunity to directly answer yes or no to packing the supreme court if Biden takes office, yet she refused to give an answer. Personally I believe packing the court would be a huge mistake, but I would at least respect them if they gave a straight answer of yes. Instead we get no answer.
I refuse to vote for a candidate that will not disclose their policies. It is unacceptable to be 26 days from the election and have one of the key issues still be a secret of the Biden campaign. Voting for president is not a cute and fun guessing game where you have to try and predict what they will do when in office. You are supposed to know exactly what they plan to do and vote accordingly.
I will not be playing this guessing game, and because of that, my vote is going to Jo this year.
