Just changed my voter registration
I’ve been a Republican with libertarian leanings since I was able to vote. I literally walked into the county clerks office on my 18th birthday and registered to vote – it’s that important to me. Ran for precinct committeeman a few times…lost to the local banker or his family in each election. I can’t do it anymore. The GOP doesn’t represent the America I know or the folks I live around. I can’t sit here and keep acting like what they are doing is good or ok. So I walked away. I just changed my voter registration to Libertarian. I live in Kansas, and this will prevent me from voting in the only elections that matter here, the GOP primaries, but that’s fine – at least this way I don’t have to feel dirty for voting for someone I don’t agree with or a party that has completely subscribed to the Trumpism political philosophy.
Completely unrelated note, but I’ve been drinking most of the evening. If any of you are IPA fans, 1985 by New Belgium is pretty good. Thanks for reading my ramblings.
