Libertarian party members are too exclusive.
Most of the Libertarian communities I’m a member of are incredibly exclusive. They will reject any idea that comes short of ideologically pure libertarianism, and I believe it is a key factor holding back the Libertarian party from gaining a foothold in the United States.
You can be a libertarian and still support local government, public education, and utilities. Politics and government exist on a spectrum. I think there are a lot of people who would love to vote for candidates that will reduce the size and power of the federal government, but may not love the idea of every road being a toll road. I for one am a Libertarian because I believe the direction the United States needs to go is in the libertarian direction, away from authoritarianism.
