Going to get fined $500+ for not doing a thing I didn’t know I had to do.
So the property-taxes I pay indirectly through my rent and the dog tax that I pay (just for owning a dog), that are mostly used to finance things completely unrelated to dogs, aren’t enough for the city I live in. Neither is the money they earn from me due to their monopoly on water and public transportation.
No. Because I didn’t comply with a regulation I wasn’t aware of (providing the city with personal data about myself) for more than a year (I just found out about the regulation), I’ll have to pay a hefty fine.
I will be able to pay it, but it hits hard. I am a student and don’t have a lot of money every month. I have some savings, though. No one told me about the regulation. I guess I should just spend every minute of spare time studying the countless local, regional and national laws to make sure I comply with all the
I don’t want to go into detail in this post, but be sure that no one got hurt due to me being unaware the regulation and that noones well being / property / health / … was in any way threatened (and the city is aware of this).
The person who handled my “case” was also pretty unfriendly.
