I am not a Libertarian
I am not a Republican, nor am I a Democrat.
I do not pick teams, because the idea that any political party would 100% carry my values is bordering on the absurd. I pick candidates, and lately the Libertarian party has been putting up the candidates that most closely matches my values. It is for this reason I vote for Libertarian candidates; but I am not a Libertarian.
I participate in the discussions about the Libertarian party because of the range of topics and opinions that can be found there. While the party itself will never be what I would truly envision for it to be, I can see there is room for discussion about the values that I hold most dear. So I will continue to participate with the citizens who will participate with me, to talk about the ideas of what it is to be a Libertarian; but I will never be a Libertarian.
Don’t be a Libertarian, or a Democrat, or a Republican. Never let others use your voice to push their own agendas. Be yourself, and vote who most matches YOUR values. I’m sure in 10 years, I’ll be have the same conversations, with similar people, under a different banner than Libertarian. And so should you.
