Vent/frustration I guess?
I’m a religious practicing Jew living in New York, where his royal highness Emperor Coumo just announced synagogues, churches, mosques, etc, will be slowly reopening with limited capacity. When did we reach a point as a nation that we wait for permission from on high to practice our religions? It drives me insane that nobody is making a big deal out of this. All it took was a virus for us to dump our liberties down the toilet? But honestly more than angry, it just makes me sad. Have we truly lost what it means to enjoy, cherish, and protect our God given right to life, liberty, and happiness? The two party system has broken our country. In a normal thinking world, Justin Amash, whatever disagreements you may have had with him, should have absolutely cleaned up in November. Anti the drug war, the patriot act, civil asset forfeiture, militarization of police. Pro legalization, liberty, and small government. Instead it’s down to the two options a meth addict couldn’t have imagined in a fever dream. Idk. Just feels kinda depressing sometimes. But then again outside New York I see states opening, people protesting, and my spirits lift again. Do y’all think there’s any hope of ever scaling back the federal government?
