Car Registration
I know this going to sound petty, but here goes anyway. Have you ever given detailed thought about how horrible something as ubiquitous as car registration is? I started thinking about it with the new annual registration notification I got. It’s been tied into our psyche since the day we got our first car.
Seriously, it’s a total invasion of privacy, it’s a regressive tax (theft), it give cops an opportunity to ticket us if it’s out of date or lost, it gives judges the ability to fine us, and it’s stupid. All in the name of being able to track us down IF we do anything wrong. To me, it’s no different than gun control in that they require us to do it only because of the schmucks who are actual criminals, It’s actually just another money grab. I’ve always made fun of the UK because they require a license to own a TV, but getting a license to operate a car isn’t much different. And I’m not referring to a driver license, which is also bad, but not nearly as expensive.
I swear, the older I get the more I despise everything about the state. Every single thing.
