What would happen if we no longer forced children & teens to go to school in the USA?
My sister is a high school teacher in NYC and she mentioned to me that students are so apathetic this year that teachers are quitting left and right because there’s no actual consequences for their poor work ethic or behavior. At the end of the year they’ll get make up work or projects to pass and graduate so there’s no accountability. There’s about a million students in NYC public schools, so I would say about 80% of them are idiots just from looking up literacy rates for NYC. So every year 800,000 idiots waste taxpayer money and there’s nothing to show for it. Realistically, what would happen if we took away the law that forces every child to go to public school if they’re not enrolled in a private school or are being homeschooled? Anyone can look up the news or any social media outlet and see how students assault teachers, destroy school property, etc. And this is across America. Why continue to force them to attend? Why not let them get jobs instead? Just curious to hear everyone’s thoughts. Thanks
