What does Libertarianism think of welfare capitalism?
In reflecting on my Libertarian beliefs, the Swedish model has given me pause. The coexistence of a free-market economy with a comprehensive social safety net challenges my preconceptions. Sweden’s citizens, content with their government, highlight the benefits of transparency in taxes, simplified tax procedures, and minimal corruption. This prompts me to question if my Libertarian inclinations are rooted more in skepticism toward the U.S. government and a broader distrust of the two-party system than in a fundamental opposition to a well-functioning blend of economic freedom and social support.
What do you think?
