Lotto learning to do

My wife and I get a lotto ticket once every few months when the pot is absurdly big. I made a comment to her saying “well, if we lose at least it goes to a winner and taxes.”

My wife pointed out that she would rather 100% of the winnings go to the winner since the government does a terrible job when it comes to spending.

I thought this response was super funny, and actually eye opening because in every other case I feel the same way, but it hasn’t ever registered as being a problem with the lotto to me.
