Are the feds worse than ever?

Obviously some things have improved tremendously but it seems to me that for every step forward, the federal government has gone two steps backward in insidious ways. The US code is a shantytown of corruption hidden behind regulations hidden behind outdated and broken systems.

And if it’s worse than ever, is there even a solution? I’ve lost a lot of hope in libertarian discourse but maybe I’m just getting old
