Are more Americans actually Libertarians?

I’ve often thought about this question myself. I feel as though if properly shown the facts and researched more into Libertarianism, more Americans may feel as though they agree with the party platforms. From even personal experience I’ve found Libertarians are sometimes thought to be “extremists” or the “anything goes party”. However I feel as though if shown the facts and properly explained, more people may find themselves agreeing with Libertarianism. Just curious what other Libertarians think of this idea.
