People who oppose universal healthcare because you don’t want to be forced to pay for other people’s healthcare, how do you feel about the sixth amendment and being forced to pay for other people’s public attorneys?
It seems like just about everyone here loves the Bill of Rights, and for good reason, but it seems like a contradictory view to support the sixth amendment but not universal healthcare.
An argument could be made for universal healthcare with the Declaration of Independence and the whole “Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness”, combined with Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 of the Constitution: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; “
