Should you want to vote for the winner when it comes to elections?
It really sounds like a stupid question at first glance, of course you would want to want to vote for the winner because they probably align more with your politics and talking points. I would argue that this is not as simple as that though. As someone who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 (I really can’t stand Trump), I realize that I have essentially given him a mandate to rule over me. I would argue that it is thus more beneficial in the long-run to vote for losers of elections than winners as losers of elections usually don’t justify things by saying “well you voted for me”. I do think you could extend this argument to not voting as well but that could also give the winner justification for power grabbing because they could argue that if the election was so important than why didn’t you vote against them.
