“Public Media” is 32% tax-funded. Period. The system writ large, which includes PBS, NPR, PRI, APM, PRX, etc and unaffiliated Public Broadcasting stations. Why can’t they be more transparent on where their revenue comes from and be more open to the public? Why do they obfuscate their tax funding? Why the shell game on direct and indirect funding? Why ignore member stations, which they co-brand with, and the revenues they funnel back? Why do they ignore, downplay, or hide state/local taxes and funding from colleges? Why do the “sniff” when they deny they are tax-funded?
If “Public Broadcasting” tax revenues are so “insignificant” or “so little” or “a drop in the bucket” as multiple people assert, why can’t they just forgo them?
