Rights aren’t real. They are arbitrary and based on feelings.
This is how the majority of people think of rights. If they’re not religious in anyway ie: they’re atheist. They believe rights are this made up bullshit concept that isn’t grounded in anyway to reality, that they only exist through feelings and emotions, and that they’re ultimately validated through Democracy. To them what makes rights exist is how one feels and that if many people feel the same way and want them badly enough these rights can be granted by Democracy.
This is the same philosophy driving what makes people think healthcare can be a right that is “granted” onto society through Democracy. This is the same philosophy that allows people to feel you no longer have a right to your own life or property. You only have the right to life and property after a Democratic process just because people feel you have that right. The reality to them is you don’t own yourself, but rather you owe yourself to the collective Society under a banner of Democracy. After all, human beings are “social animals”.
