I used to be a libertarian with a capital L, but I’ve come to realize a few things and now I’m more moderate.
- A profitable and successful business can still be detrimental to society.
- Certain traditions are important and should be preserved.
- Not everyone is responsible enough to handle all drugs being legal without their lives being ruined or having their lives be ruined by someone else who uses irresponsibly.
I am still certainly libertarian, I’m just older and I’ve seen a few things and noticed trends happening. For example, I’ve realized that “current” political discussions have actually been taking place for quite a while. People have been “owning the libs” and calling each other nazis in exactly the same way they are now for 50 years. Nothing new is being talked about politically speaking for a number of decades. I feel it will continue like this for a long time.
