Libertarian thoughts on Confederate monuments and memorials
My view on this topic has been changing recently. I used to be entirely against them because they were for people who fought to provide slavery, maybe pre-1900 ones were okay but you definitely should not be building new ones in 2017. I currently believe that as long as they are on private land they are acceptable as no one has any right to stop your freedom of expression when it is on private land (even if you were to build a Nazi memorial). When monuments are on public land I believe they should be supported by a vast majority of the population otherwise they should come down.
