Star Trek is future.
It’s seems a forgone conclusion that technology will render the classical concept of individualism obsolete.
At some point, government, work, and money will be unnecessary. It feels Marxist, but it’s also beyond that [failed] concept.
It seems that Libertarianism needs to evolve to suit the ever-expanding role of technology in our society. Should we be less concerned with some traditional liberty issues and more concerned with the creeping-to-sprinting CCP-ification of US society?
China is becoming The Borg. Lest we get assimilated, we and other Liberty-minded people need to work to guide our country in a different direction. One that preserves the ideal of individualism while recognizing that technology is fundamentally changing the way we live alongside government and corporations.
The leave-me-alone mentality is becoming less realistic as tech evolves. Don’t Tread on Me [as we tread together] is likely the ethos we need to keep the inevitable authoritarian technocracy balanced with the needs and rights of the individual.
What do you think they mean by, “You’ll own nothing and be happy.” They certainly have a plan. We better too.
