If you had to vote for one canidate in both of the major parties who would it be?
So I feel like the title comes off a little voter shamey(is that a word), but let me be clear I think voter shaming someone for voting for a third party is a major dick move, if someone votes for a third party it’s probably because both major parties have canidates who don’t represent them and this is a representive democracy right(well supposedly but that is a whole different disscusion), so yeah I just want to make it clear that I don’t think you’re in the wrong for voting third party. Anways let’s move on from this needless rant and move on to the topic of the title.
If you had to vote for a major party canidate(and you had two votes I guess, look the scenario itself isn’t really important) who would it be from each party, I will start it by telling my choices first.
REPUBLICAN PARTY: Oh boy i’m going to hate to say this, but my choice is Rand Paul. Look look I know he is basically just a worse version of his dad in like every way(policy wise I know a lot of people don’t like Ron personally), but he is one of the most Libertarian politicians in an ever authoritarian republican party(democratic party too to be fair), and even though I like to personally make fun of him from time to time he is Libertarian for the republican party. Ok now on to the deomcratic party.
DEMOCRATIC PARTY: I know some people are not going to like me for this, but my choice for the democratic party is Andrew Yang. Now I know some people don’t like Andrew Yang and I like him more because I am a left libertarian(don’t worry I also respect right libertarians I just don’t agree economically on every issue), but I think I can make a case for my point. Yang is Libertarian for the democratic party, he has said himself that he wants to shrink the size of government, and I think UBI could replace some social security if it is only used by unemployed people( I also think it could voluntarily make buisnesses pay their employs higher but I’m not here to explain UBI). I also like Andrew Yang as a person, and I think he is a pretty clear cut guy(by that I mean he doesn’t pussy foot around questions like a lot of politicians do, but I remember him doing it like once I think).
IN CONCLUSION: Those are my thoughts on which major party canidate I would vote for, and I think I made an alright case for it. I would love to here your choice for which major party canidate you would vote for, also if you want to give your thoughts on my two choices you’re free to do so.
