Democracy vs Anarchy

I feel a prevalent split in the current discourse here is on the purpose of democracy in our society. I know there are a lot of ancaps here that long for the anarchy, but I haven’t been convinced yet. There seems to only be 2 ways we can create and enforce laws.

1) The people with the power and means to create and enforce them do so

or

2) We vote on them democratically

Is democracy justifiable?
