$15 hour minimum wage. Help me understand
I see quite a few posts out there saying conservatives hate poor people because they are against this. From what I understand when this change goes into effect large corporations are going to cut jobs as much as possible and then raise prices to cover the remaining cost. They are working for their investors so they aren’t going to eat the cost.
Small businesses are going to do the same thing, however already running lean they will inevitably raise their prices more.
So this means those who actually gain from this will be spending more anyways, therefore causing the poverty line to move up more.
However for people who are currently making more than $15/hr we are all going to basically get a pay decrease because we will have to put more of our money towards essentials. On top of this people who are making more also have school debt and spend years of their life in school to make something of themselves.
Times are already tight why do you think it’s ok for the middle class to pay the price here?
