“Free” Health care
Hello all, I recently have started looking into Libertarian policies, and so far, they do line up with my own beliefs. However, health care is just the last factor which I’m sort of split on. I do believe in the Market do lower our healthcare prices. However, in our deeply regulated healthcare system in America which both major parties refuse to change, it seems to me that our American health care will forever be expensive. Not so say Medicare-for-all is cheaper or anything, but if standard health care is already so expensive, why not just opt for it?
One of the main opposing arguments to Medicare-for-all other than cost, is the quality your receive. I’m not opposing the fact what so ever that if we do have Medicare-for-all, the quality of our health care will be decided by our government. However, I see these Scandinavian and European countries (Denmark, Sweden, France, etc.) that are mostly a free market adhering to capitalism, but have high quality universal healthcare. Why can’t we do the same in America?
Also, is health care a right or privilege, can some one give me a solid answer with evidence?
This is in no way an attack on Libertarians or their beliefs. I’m not here to debate, I’m here to seek knowledge. Im the student, you guys are the teachers. Thank you!
