Worrying ‘Mental Health’ Propaganda in the UK
There aren’t many libertarians in the UK, most of us are hive-minded monarchist group-thinkers. This is why we’ve voted away freedom of speech, gun rights, property rights etc. over the last 40 years.
I don’t know what it’s like in the US, but here we have a lot of government propaganda about ‘mental illness’, they’re pushing the notion that being even slightly discontented with life means that you’re suffering from ‘mental health’ (as it’s called here) and that you need to see a doctor. In the UK anybody, from age 16 and up can literally walk into a state-funded doctors’ office, and upon giving only the slightest mention of having ‘mental health problems’, you’ll walk out with a prescription for some mind-bending antidepressant, no questions asked. We have one of the highest rates of prescriptions for tranquilizers, antidepressants and sedatives – for free, by the state. Call me slightly nuts (lol), but is it almost like people are being taught not to care about the absolute shocking state of this country and the fact that you’re treated like a child who cannot make their own decisions by state-encouraged, state-subsidised prescriptions of psychotropic drugs.
