Okay, I’m thoroughly confused
Last I heard, the GOP championed the free market and deregulation. The party support(s/ed) environmental deregulation, opposed the Fairness Doctrine, opposed clean water bills, opposed net neutrality, opposed campaign finance reform, etc. Things that would actually help the people and the country.
But now that it comes back and applies to you equally, you demand more regulations? You want the government to force companies to serve you even when you break their terms of service, yet you opposed it doing so when baking a cake for a gay couple or forcing Hobby Lobby to provide contraceptives. Forgive us if we’re a little unsympathetic to your cause, but these things were your ideas to begin with, and you thoroughly supported them whilst they benefited you. But now that they no longer do, you want to change the rules. It’s all legal thanks to you, so who cares if “Big Tech” funds the Democrats, when oil and gas funds Republicans to oppose green legislation or public transit systems? Who cares if dark money helps Democrats win, when a) it’s legal and b) you supported it because it benefitted you at the time? Is it only okay when it benefits you?
Conservatives, enlighten me.
