I, a libertarian, and am against the $600/2000 stimulus check
Fundamentally, I’m completely against stimulus’s, and I’m sure most libertarians would agree. However, in light of the new stimulus plans, it seems like the majority of this sub is in favor of it. As I’ve seen described, people see it as them getting their money back from a government that stole it from them in the first place. Although I partly agree, the lack of responsibility of our government forces me to be against it. Increasing our national debts even higher than it is, printing outrageous amounts of money, and creating higher potential taxes in years to come doesn’t seem gainful in comparison to one $600/2000 check. This is also not to mention the subsidies that are in place to go to large corporations, and also other foreign countries. Potentially, a stimulus in this instance could work, but not the way the government wants it.
