Why the smaller a country the freer it is?

If I go to the list of countries by its size: https://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/countries_by_area.htm#:~:text=The three smallest countries in,in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

And start from the bottom (the smaller ones) I find the countries which enjoy the most freedom (economic freedom).

Exist a correlation between size and freedom? Which are the reasons for this?
